Background
Council is seeking feedback on proposed designs for the upgrade of the Angas Road/Sussex Terrace roundabout at Westbourne Park. Due to a history of crashes resulting in injury at the intersection, this project has secured funding under the Federal Government’s 2021/2022 Blackspot Program.
In the five years to 2019, there have been three crashes resulting in injury between vehicles and cyclists.
The Angas Road and Sussex Terrace roundabout upgrade proposal includes the installation of road speed cushions and modification of islands on all approaches to the roundabout. Safety measures are also proposed for cyclists with the introduction of bicycle symbols and green cycling lanes. This project will also consider improvements to lighting.
