Tiwu Kumangka is the new name for the Blackwood Community Hub, symbolising ‘Return of the Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo’ in Kaurna. The name, endorsed by the City of Mitcham Council at its February meeting, follows extensive consultation with Kaurna representatives and the community. The name of the Reserve will be consider when redevelopment of the reserve begins.
Construction of Tiwu Kumangka is well underway. The project is on track to be open to the community by August.
