BMX Jump Tracks
Consultation has concluded, thank you for your feedback.
Consultation Outcomes and Investment Opportunities
Thank you again for your valuable feedback. Together with the findings of the BMX Jump Track Facilities Review Report, your input has shaped the BMX Jump Track Capital Investment Opportunities 10-Year List.
This long-term plan identifies potential areas for new or expanded BMX track developments within our Council area. Each project will be considered for future funding and will involve further engagement with local communities before any decisions are made.
It is important to note that not all suggestions from the Report could be progressed. For instance, the proposal for an additional junior track at Mortlock Park was not included due to heritage constraints and the complex nature of land use in that reserve.
The current list provides a strong foundation, but it is not final. New opportunities for BMX facilities may emerge over time in response to changing needs and priorities. However, the limited open space available in the northeastern and northwestern precincts of Mitcham makes it challenging to find suitable locations for further development.
We appreciate your ongoing interest and support as we continue working to improve recreational spaces across the City of Mitcham.
We invite you to subscribe via the Follow Project tab to the right of this page to keep up to date with further BMX track news.
Background
The City of Mitcham manages 4 BMX jump tracks across the city, which involves regular inspections and maintenance activities. We have observed great community use at the 4 facilities and sometimes receive enquiries for improvements or tracks in new locations.
Community feedback will help us to better understand community expectations and help shape recommendations for future investment opportunities.
