The City of Mitcham is pleased to inform you that the Master Plan for the Former Bowling Greens and Airforce Association Precinct at Hawthorn has been endorsed by Council. See the Master Plan here.
The Master Plan was developed in consultation with the community and aims to be an important place for community connection, where people are welcomed to spend time in a green open space with a natural character. It aims to celebrate the Precinct’s history and complement the Soldier’s Memorial Gardens and local area. Key features of the Master Plan include:
Planting buffer
Lawns and picnic areas
Pavilion
Demolition of Air Force Association and lean-to buildings
Stable activation, pedestrian plaza and coffee van
The Master Plan is unfunded and is likely to be implemented in stages, as funding becomes available from Council, State and Federal Governments.
Thank you for your engagement in this project, and Council looks forward to implementing the Master Plan in the coming years, as funding becomes available.
