Hawthorndene Oval changeroom facility project set to begin

An official sod turning ceremony has marked the start of construction of a new community changeroom facility at Hawthorndene Oval.

The project is proudly funded by the Australian Government in partnership with City of Mitcham, South Australian Government, Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund and Coromandel Valley Ramblers Cricket Club.

The facility is set to include two changerooms, an umpires’ changeroom, public toilets, storage, a small kitchenette, deck and verandah. The new building will also be available for community meetings and hire.

The project is being delivered by Beek Build. Construction is expected to begin on Monday 27 October and be completed by April 2026.

Existing public toilets will remain open during construction and will be demolished once the new facility is built. Some parking on Watahuna Avenue will be impacted during construction.
