Consultation has concluded
Manson Oval toilets now open!
A new accessible toilet facility is now open at Manson Oval, Bellevue Park. Located near the oval, playground, tennis courts and barbecue area, the toilets include:
A unisex accessible cubicle with baby change table
A unisex ambulant cubicle
The facilities will be open during daylight hours and cleaned daily. The former Alpha Road toilets will now be used as storage for sporting clubs.
Sustainable features include natural ventilation, energy-efficient sensor lighting and a rainwater tank.
This upgrade follows recent improvements at Manson Oval, including a new playground, barbecue area and drainage works.
Background
The City of Mitcham invited feedback on a proposal to construct new public toilet facilities at Manson Oval, Sargent Parade in Bellevue Heights.
Following overwhelming public support and careful consideration of community feedback and additional site surveys, we proceeded with a new toilet facility project as outlined in the attached plans.
The new public toilet facilities will be built next to the playground/gazebo area at Manson Oval to include a unisex accessible cubicle (with a baby change table) and a unisex ambulant cubicle, ensuring accessibility for all community members and visitors.
These toilets will be open during daylight hours and will be cleaned daily to maintain hygiene standards. The existing toilet facilities on Alpha Road, which are not open to the public, will be closed and converted into storage for local sporting clubs that use Manson Oval.
Construction commenced in October 2024 and was officially opened in April 2025.
