Rozelle Reserve plans endorsed

We are pleased to inform you the Council officially endorsed the plan to upgrade Rozelle Reserve at the Full Council meeting on 21 November. Your feedback helped shape these plans, and we appreciate your contribution.

Based on feedback from the community, the Council has approved the implementation of several key enhancements to Rozelle Reserve:

Upgraded playground

The playground will be relocated to the eastern side of the Reserve to provide an improved recreational space for residents.

Amenities on the western side

A BBQ, picnic table, and shelter will be added to the western side of the Reserve with fencing on the eastern side around the playground, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.

Furthermore, the Council has taken note of the community's request for a toilet within Rozelle Reserve. This will be considered for inclusion in the 2024/25 Budget discussions, your input has ensured that it is on our radar for future planning.

We anticipate that construction will commence in early 2024, and we are committed to keeping you informed throughout the process. Regular updates will be posted on the YourSay page to provide you with the latest information as the works progress.

The reserve upgrade will be delivered in partnership with a Government of South Australia contribution of $150,000 grant on behalf of the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport towards the proposed improvements and the City of Mitcham contribution to upgrade the playground. This work goes towards delivering on the Malinauskas Government’s promise to revitalise Rozelle Reserve in Melrose Park by the Member for Elder, Nadia Clancy MP in the lead up to the state election.

Thank you once again for providing feedback.
