Background

In June, 2022 we sought to inform and gather feedback from the community on proposed major infrastructure upgrades at Smith-Dorrien Street, Haig Street and Hill Streets in Mitcham and Netherby. The upgrades have been prioritised due to either their current condition rating or as part of Council’s existing infrastructure replacement program.

Thank you to all those who provided feedback. Community feedback identified minor issues and design plans were updated where appropriate. We made follow up phone calls to respondents to address specific concerns. We made changes to the design to take into account concerns regarding car parking.

Works have been awarded to a civil construction contractor and major civil works are expected to commence on site in November 2023.
