Thank you again for providing your feedback to help inform the ongoing management of our assets and preparation of our Asset Management Plans.

We are pleased to now share with you our draft Asset Management Plans and invite you to share your feedback with us.

Background

The City of Mitcham is responsible for looking after roads, footpaths, stormwater, open space, buildings and much more. We refer to these as Council’s assets and they are valued at over one billion dollars.

To look after these assets, we have plans which help us manage all of our assets called Asset Management Plans. These draft plans have been developed from a combination of technical data, financial analysis, and feedback from the community regarding levels of service. They outline how Council assets are constructed, operated, maintained, replaced, and upgraded.

What information is in the Asset Management Plans?

We have developed four (4) draft Asset Management Plans for the main asset categories including transport assets, building assets, stormwater assets and open space assets.

Each of these plans detail:

  • What assets we own / manage
  • Why we own / manage these assets and how this links to our strategic goals
  • What our assets are worth
  • What condition our assets are in
  • How we manage, repair and replace our assets
  • Plans for the future based on future demands, challenges and our 10 year plans
  • A 'community levels of service' page which details what we heard from the community during Stage 1 consultation and how this influenced development of the plans

These plans are available exclusively through an online platform, with direct links via the tab to the right of this page. This format has been used to better share Council's rich asset data, including spatial information displayed through interactive maps.

Please note: Google Chrome is the preferred browser to view the digital plans.
