Draft Community Land Management Plans - Stage 1 Community Consultation

Community land refers to parks, reserves and community facilities council holds for the benefit of the community. The City of Mitcham has over 250 individual parcels of land that are classified as community across several different categories, a single CLMP may cover one or more separate holdings of community land where similar management regimes are employed and comparable performance targets and measures are applicable. In most cases specific pieces of land that have similar uses and are held by Council for a similar purpose can be included in the same CLMP.

In April 2026 the City of Mitcham endorsed twelve (12) draft community land management plans for consultation:

  • five (5) new draft Community Land Management Plans, and:
  • seven (7) amended Community Land Management Plans.

Feedback is being sought to ensure all the draft CLMPs prepared by Council reflect the core values of the community and delivers a clear vision for the important role community land plays in building a healthy, connected community.

The CLMPs will provide a specific set of management directions catering to the suburb, its purpose, unique environment and users.
