Good news for local families, works are now complete at Archibald Reserve.

Designed for active and inclusive play, the upgraded space includes a flying fox, in-ground trampoline, basket swing, climbing structure and interactive play board, offering something for kids of all ages to enjoy. With temporary fencing now removed the space is ready to explore.

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback during our consultation in September 2024. We’re excited to let you know that the design for the Archibald Reserve playground renewal has now been finalised!

The updated playground will include new equipment designed to suit a wider range of age groups and create a fun, inclusive space for local families to enjoy.


Construction is scheduled to begin on 5 May 2025.

We look forward to bringing this exciting upgrade to life and will continue to keep the community updated as works progress.

The City of Mitcham invited feedback on the playground renewal at Archibald Reserve, Hawthorndene in September 2024.

Council is committed to upgrading the playground equipment in Archibald Reserve to cater for a wider range of children’s age groups.
