FAQs
Why has Council undertaken the Cumberland Park and Daw Park Traffic Assessment?
Council endorsed to undertake this study following concerns raised by residents in the local area. This study also coincides with the State Government major North-South Corridor project. Council is aware that the Department for Infrastructure and Transport has conducted its own study to investigate how the Torrens to Darlington Project will change the local street environment and accessibility.
Council’s own study will allow consideration for the whole local area potentially impacted by the South Road works, and provide opportunity for the community to raise more localised issues.
The study will aim to determine the most appropriate and cost effective treatment for the area for the identified traffic problems through data collection, expert site investigations and community feedback.

What are the next steps?
A report will be presented to Council on the outcomes of the engagement, in conjunction with the recommendations from the technical assessment report.
A proposal may then be developed for review by the community and key stakeholders prior to seeking funding and final approval from Council.
If supported by the community and the Council, the process for implementation may take 12–24 months to align to budget cycles.
