Ninja course playground now open!

In October 2022 we consulted upon a new playground for McElligots playground. Thank you for your feedback. The new ninja course playground at McElligotts Reserve, Springfield, is now open.

The course includes a boulder climb, rope net wall, commando bar climb and steep climbing wall. The soft-fall surface is marked with ‘start’ and ‘finish’ lines and a stopwatch wall allows friends to time one another.

There is also a range of exercise equipment including a fitness bicycle, hand pedal double exerciser, fitness arm winch, leg press, lateral pull and chin-up bars.

A new paved path will be installed later this year and 15 new trees and a shade sail structure will be installed in coming weeks.

McElligotts Reserve sits beneath a former quarry and has views across the city. The reserve has lawned areas and two tables, a shelter and barbecue. Interpretive signs set out some of the geological features of the site.
