Why are we investing in an integrated transport plan?

The City of Mitcham's first Integrated Transport Plan seeks to create an accessible, healthy, and connected community by aligning transport and land use planning. This plan provides a framework for future transport decisions and aims to improve transport infrastructure in partnership with the South Australian Government, focusing on sustainable, and efficient movement across the city. Emphasising public transport, active transport, and road management, the plan prioritises accessibility, safety, and community amenity while addressing high car usage. By advocating for innovative funding and regional collaboration, the plan aims to enhance connectivity, livability, and active transport options for our community.

Are the actions and strategies funded?

It is important to note that the plan is currently in draft form and recommended actions are currently unfunded projects. It is proposed that following community engagement on the draft plan, a final report will be presented to Council for endorsement and further funding consideration.
