Help Shape the Future of Treetop Park Reserve, Craigburn Farm

The City of Mitcham is inviting feedback from the community on two options for the proposed upgrade to Treetop Park Reserve in Craigburn Farm.

Council has received a Community Development Grant from the Australian Government to upgrade facilities at Treetop Park. Since our first consultation, the Craigburn Farm community has grown and how people use the park may have changed.

What we heard last time

When we first asked for your feedback in November 2020, we received 121 survey responses, multiple emails and a petition. Many people supported adding accessible toilet facilities, but we also heard concerns about maintenance, congestion and the potential for unwanted behaviour.

Why are we engaging

At a Special Full Council Meeting held on 25 June 2024, Council considered the detailed community consultation feedback received during the initial consultation, along with the increasing costs and complexity associated with the installation of a toilet facility at Treetop Reserve. For more information please refer to the Council Report tab to the right of this page.

Based on this information, Council resolved to undertake further consultation with the community regarding:

Option 1: Installation of a toilet facility:

  • In the west of the Reserve as originally consulted upon (Option A), or
  • In the northeast of the Reserve (Option B), or

Option 2: Using the funding for other improvements at the reserve, such as,

  • Barbecue
  • Junior play area
  • Associated paths
  • Drinking fountain
  • Bike rack
  • Bike pump and tool station

Next steps

Your views will help Council ensure that any enhancements reflect the community’s values and create a space that is welcoming, accessible, and functional for all. We invite you to share your thoughts via the survey below.

Following consultation, a report and recommendations will be presented to Council, which may require a variation to the grant agreement to proceed.

We want to hear from you! Help shape the future of Treetop Park Reserve by sharing your ideas in our survey before 5pm June 4, 2025.
