Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to install a roundabout at the intersection of Young Street and Waite Street, Blackwood. Due to a history of crashes resulting in injury at this intersection, this project has secured funding under the Federal Government’s 2021/2022 Blackspot Program.

The intersection at Waite Street and Young Street is a four-way intersection with a stop sign on Young Street approaches. In the five years to 2019, there have been three crashes where vehicles failed to give way resulting in injury.

A new roundabout will be constructed using recycled rubber and red line-marked islands on approaches. Improved lighting and resurfacing of the intersection with a skid resistant surface will also be included.

Have your say on the proposal below by 5pm Monday 31 January 2022.
