Treetop Park Reserve playground now open

12 May 2026

A new junior playground at Treetop Park Reserve in Craigburn Farm is now open after an upgrade that includes new junior play equipment, shade, drinking fountain and seating.

Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie and Senator Charlotte Walker MP joined City of Mitcham Mayor Dr Heather Holmes-Ross and City of Mitcham Councillors to officially open the playground earlier this month.

Mayor Holmes-Ross said the enhanced space would appeal to families, children of all ages and the wider community. “We hear from our community how important it is for these spaces to offer something for everyone and it’s not always easy, but it’s been achieved here,” she said.

The upgrade includes a new junior play area featuring two slides and a parrot rocker. Playground shade sails have been installed over an all-abilities spinner and a range of swings including a basket, toddler and flat swing.

Designed as a family-friendly space while maintaining a natural feel, the upgrade includes 18 new trees around the reserve and a drinking fountain.

Mayor Holmes-Ross paid tribute to partners Willplay Pty Ltd, Jomar Constructions and LCS Maintenance who helped bring the project to life.

The project was supported by a $200,000 Community Development Grant from the Commonwealth of Australia delivered through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications.
