CC Hood Reserve

Background

We invited feedback on the proposal to install a new playground and pedestrian refuge at CC Hood Reserve in Eliza Place, Panorama.

Our goal is to install updated playground equipment that accommodates a broader range of children's age groups. The new playground will be situated on the eastern side of the reserve, adjacent to the northern side of the toilet block and pathway.

This project is funded by the Government of South Australia on behalf of the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport. This work goes towards delivering on the Malinauskas Government’s promise towards the revitalising of CC Hood Reserve by the Member for Elder, Nadia Clancy in the lead up to the state election.

The proposed crossing is designed to function as a pedestrian refuge, where pedestrians give way to vehicles. It will feature kerb ramps on both sides of the road and traffic refuge islands in the middle, creating a safe and accessible crossing point for pedestrians entering the reserve. Positioned adjacent to the planned new playground, visitors can conveniently park in Eliza Place. While the construction of this refuge may minimally impact parking, it will significantly contribute to traffic management by encouraging a reduction of speed through the introduction of islands, line marking, and signage.

Exciting News: Construction of stage 1 to begin in 2024.

The Council has endorsed Stage 1 works of the Masterplan, which includes construction of the playground, small dog park, basketball court, junior pump track, BBQ, small soccer goals on the Oval, a central tree-lined pathway with lighting and if funding permits, additional tree-lined pathways.

These Stage 1 works will be delivered as part of a 2022 State Government election commitment by the Member for Elder, Nadia Clancy MP committed of $1 million on behalf of the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport towards the revitalising of CC Hood Reserve.

We anticipate that Stage 1 of the works will commence in early 2024 along with further consultation with the community on the playground. We are committed to keeping you informed, and the YourSay page will be regularly updated as the works progress.

CC Hood Reserve Masterplan and Community Land Management Plan Endorsed!

We're got some exciting news to share with you – the Council has officially endorsed the Masterplan for CC Hood Reserve and the Community Land Management Plan. Your feedback played a crucial role in shaping these plans, and we appreciate your contribution.

During the Full Council meeting on 21 November, the Council reviewed the community consultation feedback and made key changes to the Masterplan based on your input.

The endorsed Masterplan now includes:

• Inclusion of a basketball court
• Relocation of the small dog park
• Enlargement of the junior pump track
• Inclusion of small soccer goals on the oval
